Gators offer signees four-year scholarships

For the first time, Florida was one of several schools to offer signees four-year guaranteed scholarships when its 23-man class signed National Letters of Intent on Wednesday. That differs from the normal one-year renewable scholarship and offers players more protection.

Some school begin pledging 4-year scholarships

With NCAA legislation pending approval, some schools gave their newest classes of incoming football recruits four-year scholarships on Wednesday. Among the schools that confirmed on national signing day they would be giving out scholarships that no longer have to be renewed annually were Ohio State, Auburn, Michigan, Michigan State, Florida and Nebraska.

MS Society honors longtime supporter

Carol L. Lasek was awarded the distinguished Hope Award by The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, South Florida Chapter, at its 29th Annual MS Gala & Fashion Show.
